Registration open for the online course "New trends in Agro-Biotech, a look from intellectual property and technology transfer".
The Bioethics and Law Observatory of the Universidad del Desarrollo and UC Davis Chile Life Sciences Innovation Center have just opened registrations for the online course "New trends in Agro-Biotech, a look from intellectual property and technology transfer", which will be held from April 12 to 28, 2021.
This initiative aims to raise awareness of the various protection mechanisms available, provide tools for the implementation of regulatory strategies for innovation in local context and explore new opportunities and challenges in innovation models of Agro-Biotech.
"New trends in Agro-Biotech", will be taught by international professors with extensive experience in intellectual property and bio-business in the area of Agro-Biotech. We will count with the participation of Mariana Berestein, academic co-director and professor of the graduate program of Executive Education in Biotechnology, Innovation and Business of the Business School of the Di Tella University; Mónica Alandete-Saez, open innovation scientist at The Climate Corporation, San Francisco, USA and David J. Jefferson, researcher of the project "Harnessing Intellectual Property to Build Food Security" of the Faculty of Law of the University of Queensland.
The course is aimed at chilean and international professionals (fluent in Spanish) from the world of bio-business and technology transfer, managers of biotechnology ventures, lawyers with an interest in intellectual property and technology transfer, members of public agencies linked to R&D&I, biotechnology engineers and other related professions, researchers in the area of biotechnology, among others, and will be taught in an on-line mode with synchronous classes via Zoom. It will include classes oriented to the acquisition of updated contents and workshops with an applied approach to innovation and technology transfer issues.
