UC Davis Chile Life Sciences Innovation Center was born in 2015 to be a strategic partner of companies and institutions in the agri-food and environmental sectors. The Center acts in partnership with prestigious universities and local companies.
Our academic partners are institutions that possess expert and complementary technical capabilities to carry out applied research activities and develop innovation initiatives.
Our business partners are companies that have their own requirements for improvements or technological developments, but also want to support the existence of UC Davis Chile to accelerate effective processes of technology transfer to the national industry, from developments currently available in California (licenses and patents, start-ups); generating Research and Development (R+D) results or facilitating access to knowledge, information and technologies available at UC Davis through technology Extension activities.

Universidad Andrés Bello
Largest university in Chile with 42,000 students and the only private university accredited in research. Centers of excellence aligned with UC Davis Chile priorities, as Molecular Physical Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Aquaculture and Health Management, including research infrastructure in genomics. UNAB was the UC Davis Chile implementation partner.
Universidad de Talca
The University of Talca is one of 25 state institutions associated with the Council of Rectors of Chilean Universities. In 2018, the University of Talca was among the seven best in the country. Located in the center of the grape and wine region, its agricultural programs research infrastructure in viticulture and enology are aligned with UC Davis-Chile priorities. Provides presence for UC Davis-Chile in the south of Chile and sees UC Davis-Chile as a strategic partner to strengthen its linkages to the wine industry.
Universidad de Tarapacá
A Chilean state university, member of the Council of Chancellors of Chilean Universities (CRUCH), with its headquarters in Arica and branches in Iquique and Santiago. Recognized worldwide for agricultural research in arid terrain, human anthropological and archeological studies in the Desert of Atacama, it has infrastructure for research on crops in extremely dry conditions and provides UC Davis Chile with presence in the extreme north of the country.

Instituto de Investigaciones Agropecuarias (INIA)
Founded in 1964, the Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA) is a private nonprofit corporation linked to the Chilean Ministry of Agriculture. It is financed mainly through public funds, through an agreement with the Undersecretariat of Agriculture, as well as competitive funds of research projects, technology transfer and extension, both public and private, as well as agreements and sale of technological products.
